Not many people know and in fairness, we don't shout about it enough but Field Day Ireland is a truly local handmade brand...
Our candles are hand poured and finished and once cooled, they're checked and packaged up all by hand here at our factory - by a great team of women, who take their quality control role very seriously. Our soaps are hand wrapped individually also. Continue reading
As if launching our rebranded Field Day range wasn't hectic enough, during April we also launched our new range of essential oil-based luxury candles - Field Apothecary Ireland at an exclusive press and blogger launch in Arnotts, Dublin, our exclusive Irish stockist for the next 2 months. It's my absolute pleasure to welcome you to our new name and branding - Field Day. I hope you enjoy looking through our updated site. You'll be glad to hear that our best selling fragrances haven't gone anywhere and you'll notice that the look and feel of the new range is very much the same. We have however introduced some lovely new products and changed a few of our existing products so I thought I'd run through everything here: Continue reading
I'm telling my age here but I remember the very first Daffodil Day in Ireland 30 years ago. It was way before these kinds of themed days became the norm and I remember thinking it was such a brilliant idea - using one of the first flowers of spring as a symbol of hope and a new start for people on their cancer journey. Before I tell you about Field Apothecary, I need to say thank you for the amazing reaction to our name change and our new fragrances. It's been lovely to read all your messages of encouragement and to hear you're as excited as we are about the new Field Day range. Thanks also for your support of the Bog Standard 20% sale. I will warn you that our soap & candle stocks are extremely low right now with some fragrances completely sold out.
There's been so much in the press recently about hygge following the release of 'The Little Book of Hygge' by Meik Wiking, founder of the Institute of Happiness. Yeah, I kid you not, there's an 'Institute of Happiness' in Denmark!
According to the Visit Denmark website, hygge (pronounces (hue-gah - kind of) means creating a nice, warm atmosphere and enjoying the good things in life with good people around you. The warm glow of candlelight is hygge. Friends and family – that’s hygge too. And eating and drinking – preferably sitting around the table for hours on end discussing the big and small things in life. Perhaps the Danish idea of hygge explains why Danes are often considered the happiest people in the world?
So as the evenings start to draw in, how do you get some hygge going in your life? Let's start with the most obvious one - a candle. And what better candle to calm your home than one of our natural wax blend candles from our best-selling Linen range. With notes of fresh lavender, geranium, rosemary, pine and eucalyptus resting on a base of patchouli, sandalwood and vanilla, it's available in a mini candle, large candle and an extra-large 3 wick candle. Prices start from £7.95/€10.95 with FREE delivery and a FREE freshener on all orders over £30/€40.
